Playa Frambes Progress 2005
August / September 2005
We added temporary housing....
Bob and Father-In-Law Jack drove the new trailer to Mulege.
No problems...no flats or accidents.
Now we have temporary housing with air conditioning!!!
We bought the trailer on Ebay for 10K...go figure.
It was sure HOT!!!
Both Bob and Jack had their own personal BIG fan!!!
Jack says he lost 10 pounds in just water.
In August we found a dealer in Flordia that sells tankless hot water heaters.
We purchased two types to try them out.
Both are propane powered.
The larger unit needs to be vented outside but can handle the water use of a small apartment. The price was around $300.
The smaller unit is an indoor point-of-use unit.
No venting is required but it only heats enough water for one point-of-use at a time.
We think we will use this unit for the washer.
The price of this unit was around $120.
Here is their link...take a look.
Now for the GOOD STUFF!!!
We have satellite internet.
Wayne Davey and his son Mario who live near Santa Rosalia assisted us in installing satellite internet.
It works Great!!! Wayne is a true professional.
The cost is $400 for equipment and $200 for installation (required) DW6000
Monthly service is $60 a month...The cost has gone WAY down!!!
Wayne recomissioned the modem to SATMEX5 so we can receive and transmit easily.
Contact Wayne at:
losfrailes@direcway.com
Next...phone service using the internet...
We had some dirt delivered but the tractor loader pump blew so we can't spread it until that's fixed. October is our next scheduled trip.
I got the part locally and our neighbor Armando is having it installed.
There was some construction going on next door...so we looked.
Armando and Delia are selling lots.
David the diver and his family have purchased a couple of these lots.
They are building a small Bed and Breakfast for divers.
They own a dive shop in Northern California and plan on organizing dive trips to the Bay.
What FUN!!! (Diving that is...)
They have the septic tank started and the slab for the garage. It will be framed in wood and stuccoed on the outside.
Boy was it HOT!!! Did I say that already???
WE'LL BE BACK.....
